An-Nisa Society was established in May 1985 by a group of young British Muslim women, in response to the needs of Muslim women and their families.

The Equality Bill gets Royal Assent

Final amendments were made to the Bill during the third reading in the Lords on 23 March. Amendments discussed covered clauses 10-216 of the Bill.

The amendments made to the Bill in the House of Lords were agreed to by the House of Commons (without amendment) on 6 April 2010. The Bill received Royal Assent on 8 April 2010.
