YOU'RE BEING FRAMED!
For young people aged between 12-16 years of age
A series of art workshops between 23 May 2009 - 27 June 2009 10am-2pm
The An-Nisa Society is working in partnership with the National Portrait Gallery to provide the opportunity for a group of 15 young people from Brent to work with the high-profile professional artist Faisal Abdu'Allah in a series of exciting creative workshops inspired by the Gallery's Collection.
The Young People will collaborate with Faisal (see biography below) to produce a body of new art works. The project will culminate in a public exhibition at the Gallery.
We will also provide a framework for a continued relationship with the Gallery and the opportunity for community based exhibitions. The workshops will take place in Brent and will also include specially tailored visits to the National Portrait Gallery.
The project is for young Muslims aged 12-16 years living in the Brent area or who have previously been involved in An-Nisa Society projects.
Details are in the attached flyer - there are limited places so early booking is recommended. You can download the booking form and photo consent form and return to Humera Khan asap on humerakh@hotmail.com
Most of the workshops will take place at the Chalkhill Youth & Community Centre, Poplar Grove, Chalkhill, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 9DB. There will be visits to the National Portrait Gallery
