Impact of SMS

The SMS has become an important landmark in our local Muslim community. Our particular style and ethos has not only attracted families that live near by but families that are prepared to travel long distances to attend the School.

Other than what children learn formally in the classrooms our over-riding concern is to ensure that we nurture strong, ethically minded young Muslims who will be an asset to society. Essential in achieving this objective is that children have a positive and creative Islamic educational experience – one where love and not fear is the consistent message that they receive.

Our happy and relaxed environment helps children to feel comfortable and that being Muslim is ‘cool’. Many ex-students come back to contribute their time and skills as a way of saying ‘thank you’ for the time they spent with us.

During the School’s 18 years we have built good relations between the students, their families and the teachers. Family members are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the School, in particular its religious and social functions. While children are in lessons many parents stay on at the School and enjoy a friendly chat, plan School events or to have a cup of tea. The strength the School is its community spirit.
